Recurring Themes
I have often mentioned the seemingly endless repetition in the Qur'an. Here is a specific verse that is repeated almost verbatim in a number of places:

"... there came to them their Messengers with Clear (Signs), (which they rejected, to their own destruction): it was not Allah Who wronged them, but they wronged their own souls."[Quran 30:9 abbr.]

In the latest readings, the text goes on and on about Clear Signs and those that reject them. These rejecters of Clear Signs are destroyed in every horrible manner imaginable, but it was not Allah that destroyed them, it was their own evil. I would guess that this is because "Allah is oft forgiving, ever merciful"[Qur'an ad nauseam]

This is followed but another favorite on "Allah's hit parade"...

"In the long run evil in the extreme will be the End of those who do evil; for that they rejected the Signs of Allah, and held them up to ridicule."[Qur'an 30:10]

What is it that Allah has about ridicule? It seems that not only do most people that see his Clear Signs reject them, but they also hold up these signs, and the messengers, to ridicule. I guess this aspect of human behaviour really sticks in Allah's craw. Yikes! I guess I am ridiculing... I wonder what nasty death I have to look forward to...
